The International Service Director is responsible for enhancing members knowledge of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through the world fellowship of Rotary.  The International Director initiates international projects with Rotary Clubs in other countries and supports Rotary International programs such as Group Study Exchange, Ambassadorial Scholars, Rotary Youth Exchange and develops relationships with other Rotary Clubs in the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the club’s relationship with its sister clubs overseas and liaising with overseas clubs
  • Organising fundraising for Polio Plus and The Rotary Foundation
  • Organising or Sponsoring events that promote international understanding and other cultures
  • Organising or Sponsoring all International Service Projects and reporting their plans, progress, and outcomes to the board
  • Assisting and supporting International Service project teams
  • Promoting events for members to attend, including Rotary conferences overseas
  • Liaising with and supporting the Rotary Community Corps (RCC) and reporting their needs and progress to the board, and coordinating board members to attend their meetings regularly and promoting their events and projects to the club
  • Provide an annual plan for projects and events, provide quarterly updates and reports
  • Work with the Marketing Director to promote and celebrate International Service on the website, via social media, PR opportunities, and through the newsletter
