Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT have called for volunteer marshals for the 2023 Australia Day Wheelchair Race, which is planned for Thursday 26th January. For those who have not helped out previously, the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove has for many years provided volunteers for this event, with the assistance of other Rotary clubs in the District, Rotaract clubs, family and friends.
Volunteers generally gather on George Street in The Rocks from 7am, prepare and setup the course, marshal during the event, pack up after the event and then look around to see other Australia Day events or head to a local watering hole for lunch and a beverage or two. It is usually finished by 11.00am. It truly is a mix of helping a good cause and fellowship with your fellow club members and friends.
