The Rotary Club of Sydney Darling is an active and an effective community service group, with a broad array of projects on the go. We support women’s homeless shelters, we plant trees, we organise fundraisers and much, much more. We have members from all walks of life and are always ready to try our hand at something new.
Like any Rotary Club, our members are our most valuable asset. Their passion, skills and service are the only reasons we’re able to make the changes in the world that we can. We would love to have you amongst us and to work on things you care about.

Volunteering Opportunities
Boots for Africa: Boots for Africa has reached out to us to provide support in packing donated items to be shipped overseas. We’ll be holding a packing event in September, and making a tangible difference in the lives of a lot of children.
Graffiti Removal Day: As Sydney-siders, we’re keen to ensure to continued beauty of our city. In October, we’ll be rolling up our sleeves to scrub graffiti off of a part of it.
MediShare: MediShare is a Rotary program which works to provide medical support to disadvantaged communities. They are presently involved in providing aid to Ukraine, and we’d like to help out.
Tree Planting in Jubilee Park: National Tree Planting Day is the 31st of July, and we’ll be locking to roll up our sleeves and get involved.
Event Planning
Bush Dance: An old favourite for the Rotary Club of Sydney Darling Harbour is our bush dance, a fundraiser wherein we dance to the folksy tunes of a country band. Now that COVID restrictions look to be easing, we are planning another Dance for April of 2023.
Ongoing Projects
Body Safe: Body Safe Australia perform important work in promoting childhoods free from violence, and have asked for our support in spreading their program. This will be an important and long-term project for the Club, so we’re keen for members to get involved.
Rotary Business
RYLA Nominees: After two years of COVID cancellations, the Rotary Youth Leadership Award is set to finally return in 2023. If you know a young person who would benefit from a week of leadership training and personal development, we’d love to hear about them.
Uluru Statement from the Heart: The Uluru Statement from the Heart recognises the history of Australia’s First Nations People. We would like to discuss how our Club can play a small part in supporting the statement.
Visiting Rotarian: Ujjwala Barve from the Rotary Club of Pune, India is visiting Sydney to give us an insight into her worth in India.
