Our friends at Camden Rotary Club are holding their Annual Charity Golf Day at Camden Golf Club on Monday 14th October.
Proceeds from the day will be used to fund ongoing Camden Rotary projects, as well as being distributed between the following local charities who make a real difference in the community:
The Right Start Foundation is a Macarthur organisation committed to raising awareness about Down Syndrome and giving these children the best start in life. With early intervention they can achieve the highest goals and become assets to our communities. The Foundation has partnered with The Shine Shed, Campbelltown, to provide a unique monthly support group for parents and their children to get together to discuss issues and share problems and solutions. In addition, it has partnered with Shining Stars Foundation to run regular creative therapy and life skills sessions at Mt Annan. Right Start continues to also provide direct monetary grants to families in financial hardship who lack government support for their special needs.
Shining Stars Foundation is a charity with DGR status providing a mobile outreach service to help rough sleepers and people less fortunate. Their aim is to make a difference providing blankets, clothing, meals, daily hygiene and daily living needs with a focus on social or public welfare providing connections to multiple services in the Macarthur and Sydney region.
The Rotary Club of Camden has been active since 1947 and has helped raise much needed funds for local charities and community projects. Their motto of “Service Above Self” has ensured that there is not a community group, charity or local resident that has not been touched in some way by Camden Rotary.
