The Minister for Mental Health, Regional Youth and Women, The Honourable Bronnie Taylor MLC, today announced the 16 NSW 2019 finalists for Inspirational Women’s Awards proudly presented by the Rotary Club of Darling Harbour.
Minister Taylor said the Awards are a fantastic opportunity to shine a light on the enormous contribution of women in both city, regional and rural communities across New South Wales.
“These awards celebrate the outstanding commitment, energy, and sacrifice of Rotary’s inspirational women. As a community it is important we take the time to acknowledge and thank volunteers. They give so much of themselves and ask so little in return,” Ms. Taylor said.
“As a state we are hugely indebted to all women of all ages. I’m in awe of their commitment to our communities and I welcome these awards that acknowledge the quiet achievers who repeatedly go above and beyond to make a difference.”
“There’s a great variety in this year’s finalists, but they are unified in their dedication to service through various organisations. We thank them all for their innovative and exemplary community service.
Newly appointed Awards Ambassador, Louisa Hope was warmly welcomed by Minister Taylor.
“RIWA is now connected with a truly courageous woman, one who continues to share her message with many women.”
President of the Rotary Club of Darling Harbour Mel Lane thanked all who attended to support the announcement of the 16 amazing women. She expressed her special appreciation to Parliamentarians, Mark Coure, Member for Oatley, Julia Finn MP, Member for Granville; The Hon Leslie Williams, MP, Member for Port Macquarie.
“I especially thank the Partners/Sponsors – First State Super – Michael Hilder and Lisa Collins; City Tattersalls Club, the Older Women’s Network – Chair Beverley Baker and Christine Hall, your support is truly valued,” Ms Lane said.
