Dear members and friends of the Rotary Club of Sydney Darling Harbour,

I don’t know about you, but I had a great Saturday – Glebe’s Christmas Concert was a real treat to attend! The live music, frantic barbecuing and excited kids have been things that we’ve all missed over the past few years, and it’s great to have them back. Thanks to all that helped!

If you missed out, good news! The Uniting Harris Community Centre Nativity Event is on this Friday, and we’d love to see you there! These are always a fantastic way to cap off the year, with youngsters running underfoot, grown-ups catching up and even an appearance from Santa.

Before that though, Wednesday is our Annual General Meeting. Sarah Thyssen from the EB Research Partnership will be joining us talk to about Epidermolysis Bullosa. This is a serious condition which impacts around a million people globally, so I hope you will join me in learning more about it.
As always, our Club requires our members to step up and bring it into the next year. For those ready to take the next step in their Rotary journey, or to continue the vital support they give the Club, I look forward to making it official on Wednesday.

Otherwise, that’s it from me. Literally this time. This is the last newsletter for the year and, in January, the responsibility of writing it will pass to our Secretary, Nishant Samuel. Writing the newsletter has become something of a Sunday-evening routine. Thank you for reading it and putting up with my typos, grammatical mistakes and outright factual errors. I cannot imagine a safer pair of hands to pass it to.

If I don’t see you on Wednesday or Friday, have a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2023.

Drew Sturgiss
