What an incredible first in person meeting with the Darlings having some great speakers and great projects serving our community ahead. Rachael Imburgia shared some of the significant advances in heart surgery and the incredible work that occurs in a cardiac operating theatre! Our RYLA sponsored graduates Ajit & Artun shared their life changing experience a RYLA camp in January this year with their stories of reliance and growth. A leadership and personal growth experience that is a once in a life time opportunity. Next week with have a Rotary Peace Fellow Ana Prada from Colombia attending our virtual meeting to present about her internship at the Institute of Economics & Peace in Sydney. Ana will talk through how her studies will help her in her passion of Latin America local peacebuilding processes and sustainable agriculture.

SPEAKER: Ana Prada is Colombian and especially interested in Latin American local peacebuilding processes and sustainable agriculture. She has studied organic and agro-ecological production processes in Colombia, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Peru. She has also worked with different organisations in the implementation of a Peace Agreement in rural reform, economic reintegration and solutions to the drug problem. She is currently a Rotary Peace Fellow at the University of Queensland. She is also an alumna of the International Training in Dialogue and Mediation at Uppsala University and the international course on Food Systems and Sustainable and Healthy Diets at the University of Wageningen.

Rotary Adopt a Tree Planting in Mandemar March 4, 2023 at 9:00 am Mandemar |
The Environment is now one of Rotary’s areas of focus, and tree-planting will be a regular activity that the Rotary Club of Sydney Darling Harbour is engaged in. Like many of our projects, planting trees involves us performing works that will pay off over the course of years and decades. This March, we will be visiting two farms in Mandemar to aid the Rotary District in the planting of 1250 trees. Final Thoughts
Bones, stop growing after puberty and muscle and fat cells also stop dividing. But cartilage – that’s the plastic-like stuff in ears and noses – cartilage continues to grow until the day you die. Not only does cartilage grow, but the earlobes elongate from gravity. And that makes ears look even larger.
