The Rotary Club of Sydney Darling Harbour celebrated a memorable Changeover Dinner, honouring outgoing Co‑Presidents Michael Mazza and John D’Alessandri for a year of innovation, community engagement, and global impact.

The evening paid tribute to the outstanding year The Darlings have had. A reflected upon highlight was the wildly successful Turkish Cultural Night—an evening of food, music, and shared culture that brought together club members and the wider community, while raising valuable funds for international service initiatives.

Under Michael and John’s stewardship, the club also strengthened its impact through key partnerships, including collaborations with Glebe Public School, WAGEC and The Station, as well as the microfinance organisation Kiva and medical aid charity MediShare—providing vital support to disadvantaged communities here and around the world.

As the gavel was passed, members and guests warmly welcomed incoming President Rae-Anne Medforth, who begins her term with great enthusiasm and a clear vision for the year ahead.

A standout moment of the evening was the presentation of Paul Harris Fellowships—one of Rotary’s highest honours—to two exceptional members: Chris Dawes and Emily Kitchin.

Chris and Emily were recognised for their unwavering commitment to Rotary’s values and their dedicated service to both the club and the broader community. Their leadership, passion, and quiet dedication continue to inspire those around them, and the club was proud to celebrate their contributions with this prestigious honour.

As the Rotary Club of Sydney Darling Harbour turns the page to a new chapter, the spirit of service, fellowship, and fun remains as strong as ever. With new leadership, a renewed sense of purpose, and the continued support of its members, the year ahead promises to be both impactful and rewarding.
