This Wednesday the Darlings host a talk by Turkish aid organisation El Ele Kalp Kalbe (Hand in Hand, Heart to Heart).
After the devastating February 2023 earthquake in Türkiye, a group of Turkish expatriates
living in Australia were compelled to unite, driven by the belief that strength arises from unity.
El Ele Kalp Kalbe has undertaken numerous projects to support communities in
distress and remains committed to fulfilling its promise, including initiatives like:
– Providing hands-on assistance to earthquake survivors residing in temporary shelters
across various locations.
– Supporting Defne Women’s cooperative in establishing logistics for product
distribution in Hatay province.
– Backing a water supply project in Hatay province.
– Collaborating with the Bridge to Türkiye Fund to provide prosthetics to children
affected by the earthquake.
