Dear members and friends of the Rotary Club of Sydney Darling Harbour,

What a fantastic week! I had dinner in a restaurant, hiked from Manly Beach to Taronga Zoo, had friends for dinner and didn’t get into my pyjamas until a normal pyjama-wearing time. Happy days are here at last and, with restrictions easing even further from tomorrow for the fully vaccinated, we can now finally see the light at the end of this tunnel.

As always, we have a whole slew of projects underway and events coming up, including a social event featuring Sam Wade from our recent comedy night. That’s in person in Marrickville, and we’ll be having dinner and a drink before the show. I hope to see you there.

For now though, I’m going to finish writing the rest of the newsletter and fall asleep – I walked 40 thousand steps yesterday, and did the same amount today! Freedom!

Last week, members of the Rotary Club of Sydney Darling Harbour heard from David Pointon, founder of The Men’s Table. The Men’s Table is ‘a place where men can talk about what’s really going on and how they’re feeling’. Groups of about 12 men meet once a month over dinner, with the aims of: being heard; creating a trusted peer group; and creating a sense of belonging and community. Over the last two years, The Men’s Table has also seen the introduction of virtual tables and forums, and this year, celebrated its 10th anniversary.
