Dear members and friends of the Rotary Club of Sydney Darling Harbour,
Forgive me if this edition arrives a little dirty, I’m writing it out after having just worked with other members of the Club to plant roughly 100 trees in Sydney. Given we were in the area anyway, we stopped by where we planted trees in 2019, and I’m happy to say that those small saplings have grown into truly impressive timber.
It was great to get our hands dirty again with some physical volunteering. If you’d like to help out with something useful and you’ve not already signed up, please consider volunteering at the City2Surf marathon on the 14th of August.
Otherwise, the Club has had its first physical meeting in our new evening time slot. We hope the new schedule will prove more convenient for our members, and we’d love to see you at our next one on the 10th of August.

We support women’s homeless shelters, we plant trees, we organise fundraisers and much, much more. We have members from all walks of life and are always ready to try our hand at something new. Like any Rotary Club, our members are our most valuable asset. Their passion, skills and service are the only reasons we’re able to make the changes in the world that we can. We would love to have you amongst us and to work on things you care about. City2Surf Volunteering August 14, 2022 at 5:30 am Hyde Park |
City2Surf is an iconic event, stretching 14 km from Sydney’s CBD to Bondi. Since 2008, when the fundraising tally was first recorded, it has raised over $48 million for charities in need. Sydney’s generosity has become the beating heart of this event. This year, the Rotary Club of Sydney Darling Harbour will be helping out with marshalling the event. This helps make the day safe for all participants, and generates valuable funds to support our Club’s work. We’d love to see you there. The Rotary Club of Sydney Darling Harbour is engaged in several different projects. Whether it’s working within our local community, advancing international understanding and providing humanitarian aid, providing for the development and advancement of our members or fostering new friendships, our Club strives to always put its hands to something useful. Board meetings allow for the Club’s leadership to discuss plans, co-ordinate on strategies and address Club issues. They allow the Club’s leadership a chance to discuss the our upcoming events and projects, and help ensure that we remain vibrant and cohesive.
