| The Darling’s have kicked off 2024 – Exploring!!

| It was a sunny Friday afternoon, on the 19th of January, a beautiful afternoon to explore some old hidden gems of Sydney. We met our wonderful and knowledgeable leader in Trevor McAlister – author of Exploring Hidden Sydney; The Secret Histories behind over 700 sites and buildings.

| We started at the steps of Town Hall before taking off on a leisurely stroll. Trevor lead us around Town Hall pointing out the beloved sights of St Andrews Cathedral and Queen Victoria Building. Sharing his knowledge about the history of the sites and stories of days gone by.

| In our mapping of the city, some of the other sites included Strand Arcade, Former Bank of NSW, The GPO and The Barracks.
|
|
| It was such a lovely experience to take the time to appreciate the city, it’s history and architectural beauty. Such a different experience to walking past these sites daily in our fast paced and busy working lives.
|
|
| We topped off all of our hard efforts with a cold drink and sharing a meal together. Thank you to everyone who came and supported this event and the causes we will fund through this fundraising effort. A total of $620 raised to go towards future Rotary Projects!!

| The Darlings want to extend our gratitude and heart felt thanks to Trevor for donating his time and being so generous with his knowledge of our beautiful city. We enjoyed it so much that we cannot wait to hold another one to learn more about our city!
