Resilience – Sydney City Rotaract Meeting

Jurie is the Director of Driven, and is a Member of the International Association of Clinical Neuropsychotherapy. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Certificate in Medical Neuroscience.

His focus is on building resilience at an individual, organisational, and global level. Throughout this quest, Jurie has worked for some of the largest organisations in Australia and globally in the field of resilience for more than 10 years. He has consulted with large banks, airlines, education institutions, mining, and more. Projects ranged from building resilience at cultural levels, through to enhancing business resilience at a process and resource level.

Rotary Club of Camden Charity Golf Day

Our friends at Camden Rotary Club are holding their Annual Charity Golf Day at Camden Golf Club on Monday 14th October.

Proceeds from the day will be used to fund ongoing Camden Rotary projects, as well as being distributed between The Right Start Foundation and The Shining Stars Foundation.

Paws4aCause – Rotary Club of Kings Cross

To help support survivors of domestic violence, Street Paws & Rotary Club of Kings Cross are staging the inaugural “Paws4aCause" dog show to raise funds for St. John’s Community Services Darlinghurst, who will use those funds to establish a Woman’s Safe Space.

A total of thirty boutique stalls will offer a variety of doggie related accessories and services, along with face painting, fun dog competitions and a Rotary sausage sizzle – all on a warm Sunday in the Park. This is pawsitively not an event to be missed!

Our friends at the Rotary Club of Sydney are holding a Rotary Youth Talk, hosted by their Youth Committee. Rotary Youth Talk's allow for us to see incredible young people doing amazing thing, and this talk will be no exception! Georgia Stirton, manager of South Sydney PCYC, will be talking about her basketball career, her work in the Special Needs field and her current work of using her education background to provide real service to at-risk youth.

Rotary Youth Talks: Partnerships through Youth Engagement

Rotary International District 9675 Rotaract Representative 20/22 Courtney Krahe joined her high school Interact club over 10 years ago. Over the last 10 years Courtney has participated in a variety of Youth Programs including; Interact, MUNA, RYE, RYLA, Rotaract Round Trips and was the charter VP of UTS Rotaract. Courtney's aim for her term(s) as DRR is to "Rebuild & Re-Engage" Rotarians and Rotaractors with each other across the District. Lara Rutstein is pursuing Psychology (Honours) at Macquarie University. In 2017, she was selected to represent Australia in soccer at the Maccabiah Games and in 2019, she received the Gold Duke of Edinburgh award. In January of 2020, Lara went to Israel and was selected to intern at their National Anti-Doping Organisation. After returning from Israel, she is now a voluntary leader for Habonim Dror. Together, they will be speaking about the potential to build partnerships in Rotary through engaging youth.

Film Screening – “Die or Die Trying: Escaping the Taliban”

Our friends at the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove are hosting a screening of the documentary Die or Die Trying: Escaping the Taliban followed by a Q & A session with those featured in the film.

The one-hour documentary depicts the gripping and emotional experience of 15 young women from Kabul as the Taliban invade their city and seize power.
All funds raised will go towards club projects aimed at assisting refugees.
